Day by day
A sample plan — every day can be changed.
Delhi → Jaipur, if you come by road · about 280 km, 5–6 hours
Your driver meets you at Jaipur airport, the station or your hotel, or collects you from home in Delhi for the drive down. Coming by road, you can stop at Abhaneri, about 95 km east of Jaipur, to see Chand Baori, a 9th-century stepwell with flights of steps on three sides; it adds time to the day, so start early. In the evening, see Albert Hall Museum lit up after dark and have dinner in the city.
Overnight: Jaipur
Leave early for Amer Fort, about 11 km north of the city, to see its courtyards, the mirrored Sheesh Mahal and the view over Maota Lake before the heat builds; Panna Meena ka Kund, a stepwell nearby, and Jal Mahal on Man Sagar Lake are short stops on the way back. After lunch, visit the City Palace, part of which is still home to the former royal family, and Jantar Mantar next door, an 18th-century observatory with the world's largest stone sundial. Finish at Nahargarh Fort on the ridge to watch the sun set over the city.
Overnight: Jaipur
Jaipur → Delhi, if you go by road · about 280 km, 5–6 hours
Start at Hawa Mahal, the five-storey screen of small windows built in 1799 so the women of the palace could watch the street unseen. Spend the rest of the morning in Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar, then after lunch your driver takes you to the airport or station, or drives you back to Delhi.

Best time to go
October to March is the best time for Jaipur, with sunny days and cool evenings; December and January nights are cold. April to June is very hot, often above 40°C, so start early and rest in the afternoon, and July to September brings monsoon showers and fewer visitors.
Good to know
A composite ticket covering Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Nahargarh and Albert Hall is usually sold at these sites and is valid for two days. The City Palace is run privately and needs its own ticket.
Amer Fort is busiest from late morning, and afternoons are hot for much of the year, so the plan starts early and keeps the City Palace's indoor galleries for the middle of the day. Monument timings change from time to time, so check them before you go.
Johari Bazaar is known for jewellery, Bapu Bazaar for textiles and mojaris (embroidered slippers), and Sanganer, south of the city, for hand block-printed fabric. Bargaining is normal at street stalls.
Questions
Two full days are enough for Jaipur's main sights: Amer Fort, the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and Nahargarh. A three-day Jaipur trip adds time for the bazaars and a slower pace, and a fourth day allows a visit to the Abhaneri stepwell or the block-printing workshops of Sanganer and Bagru.
Yes. Jaipur is about 280 km from Delhi, five to six hours by road, so a weekend trip to Jaipur from Delhi works well with an early start. The car and driver can collect you from home in Delhi and stay with you for the whole trip.
Yes. Jaipur's main sights are close together, so the days are short walks between car rides, with time to rest at the hotel. Jeeps take visitors up the hill to Amer Fort, and Nahargarh Fort is reached by road, so neither needs a long climb.
Yes. Jaipur has many heritage hotels in restored havelis (traditional mansions built around courtyards) and former palaces, as well as modern 3-, 4- and 5-star hotels. You choose the category, and the quote is itemised.
Yes. The Jaipur Getaway works for small company groups and offsites, travelling in a tempo traveller (a 12- to 17-seat minibus) or a coach. For a conference, dealer meet or event with a full programme, the group's events unit, Shivakshi Events, plans that part.
