Honeymoons and holidays for couples

A honeymoon or an anniversary trip asks for a slower rhythm: fewer early starts, more nights where you'll want to linger, and a room with a view where one exists. We plan private tours for couples across Rajasthan, Gujarat and the Golden Triangle, with one car and driver for the whole trip, so it's just the two of you.

Rajasthan is one of India's favourite honeymoon destinations, and it is easy to see why: Udaipur's palaces on the water, heritage hotels in old forts and havelis (traditional mansions built around courtyards), dinner under the stars at a desert camp near Jaisalmer, and the Taj Mahal within a day's drive of Jaipur. Add Mount Abu, Rajasthan's only hill station, for cooler air, or the Golden Triangle if this is your first trip to India.

We plan couples' trips at an easy pace, usually with two or three nights in each place rather than one. Hotels are booked in the category you choose, including heritage palaces and havelis, and the quote is itemised so you can see what each stay and service costs. Every itinerary can be changed, whether that means an extra night in Udaipur or dropping a city altogether.

What we take care of

  • Just the two of you

Every tour is private: one air-conditioned car and driver for the whole trip, with no shared transfers and no group to keep up with.

  • Rooms with a view, where they exist

We ask for lake-facing, pool-side or upgraded rooms in the category you choose, and the quote names the room type that's booked, so there are no surprises at check-in.

  • Time to slow down

Two or three nights in the places you'll want to linger, such as Udaipur, early starts only where the sunrise is the point, as at the Taj Mahal, and afternoons left free.

  • Heritage stays

If you'd like to sleep somewhere with a story, the heritage category covers palaces, forts and havelis that are now hotels, from grand to small and family-run.

  • Honeymoon touches

Tell us it's your honeymoon or anniversary and we'll ask each hotel what it offers, such as a decorated room, a cake or a private dinner. Any extra cost appears in the itemised quote.

Where to go

Ideas to start with

Udaipur, for lakes and sunsets

Udaipur is the classic honeymoon stop: the City Palace above Lake Pichola, sunset boat rides and rooftop dinners facing the water. Give it three nights, as on the Golden Triangle with Udaipur, or pair it with the hills of Mount Abu on Udaipur and Mount Abu.

The Taj Mahal at sunrise

The Golden Triangle takes you to the Taj Mahal twice: at sunset from Mehtab Bagh across the river, and at sunrise the next morning, the calmest hour there. Our Golden Triangle itinerary guide explains how to time it around the Friday closure.

A night in the desert

Beyond Jaisalmer, desert camps on the dunes serve dinner under the open sky, often with folk music by the fire. Winter nights are cold, so pack warm layers; see the Jaisalmer Desert Escape.

Palace hotels across Rajasthan

Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur all have palaces and havelis that are now hotels, and Classic Rajasthan links the three with two nights in each. Our guide to the best time to visit Rajasthan helps you choose the month.

Questions

Honeymoons and couples: FAQs

Which places in Rajasthan suit a honeymoon?

Udaipur, with its lakes and palace hotels, is a favourite honeymoon stop in Rajasthan; Jaisalmer adds a night at a desert camp, and Mount Abu is Rajasthan's only hill station. Many couples combine Udaipur with the Golden Triangle to see the Taj Mahal as well.

When is the best time for a honeymoon in Rajasthan?

October to March is the best time for a honeymoon in Rajasthan, with warm days and cool evenings; desert nights in December and January are cold. July to September is quieter, and the hills around Udaipur turn green, but the days are humid between the showers.

Can you arrange a candlelit dinner or a decorated room?

Many hotels in Rajasthan offer honeymoon touches such as a decorated room, a cake or a private dinner. For a Connecting Vacations honeymoon, we ask your hotels what they offer and include any extra cost in the itemised quote.

How many days do you need for a honeymoon in Rajasthan?

Seven to ten days suits a honeymoon in Rajasthan: enough for two or three places with two or three nights each, so the trip never feels rushed. The 8-day Golden Triangle with Udaipur is one way to do it.

Is the car shared with other travellers?

No. Every Connecting Vacations tour is private, so the car and driver are yours alone for the whole trip, and you set the pace each day.

Tell us where you'd like to go. We'll plan the rest.

Share your dates, who's travelling and what you'd love to see. We'll reply with a day-by-day plan and an itemised quote — no obligation.
